Elizabeth Garry Brosnan Soulpreneurs FacebookTwitter HomeUncategorizedWho thinks about thinking? Who thinks about thinking? April 22, 2020 Elizabeth Garry Brosnan The Thoughts we think and the words we speak create our experiences. You are the gatekeeper of your mind. You, and only you, get to decide what thoughts get in and what ones you decide to Stop at the gate. Start taking responsibility for your thoughts. Learn to manage them. You have choice around the thoughts you entertain. Do not allow any old thoughts to go unchallenged. Remind yourself what kind of day you want, what kind of life you want. Watch your thoughts, they become your words; Watch your words, they become your actions; Watch your actions, they become your habits; Watch your habits, they become your character; Watch your character, it becomes your destiny. Lao Tzu Our thoughts are our own creation. They are part of us and do not come from outside. Our mind keeps thinking all the time in our waking moments and even during our sleep. So many people have troubled dreams in this current time of uncertainty. Our unconscious mind continues to process even when we sleep. Most of our thoughts are just habitual repetitions of unhelpful and unproductive ways of experiencing and understanding the world around us. It is important that you learn to be aware of your habitual thoughts and to appropriately adjust them so as to maintain an overall positive mental attitude. Your thoughts have energy; in fact, they are energy. Therefore your words have energy and your actions have energy. The more you focus on, invite or allow in loving and kind inhabitants into your world, the more peaceful, gentle, and filled with loving kindness your days will be. So, what can you do? When gatekeeping your thoughts, ask yourself: Is this thought really true? Is this thought helpful? How is this thought hurting me? How can I think a more helpful supportive thought right now? A man is but the product of his thoughts – what he thinks, he becomes. Mahatma Gandhi
