This week we welcomed our French students to BCS from our partner school in Rennes. They have spent the last two days in the school and attended classes with their partners. Today they had a trip to Waterford.

Well done to all the 1st year history students who recently produced brilliant projects on the Romans. The projects were presented in poster, scrapbook, PowerPoint and model format.The standard was really high and well done to everyone. Pictures show our winners and some of our first year students.
Waterford Schools Cross Country

Waterford Schools Cross Country will take place tomorrow in the Friary. Bus will leave at 9.45, please bring €2 for same. Rain is forecast for tonight so conditions could be messy, however it is supposed to be dry tomorrow. Please wear warm clothes and a packed lunch.

An information presentation on the Transition Year programme in BCS will take place next Thursday night January 24th at 7pm. This will be of interest to Parents/ Guardians and students of 3rd year who are opting to do Transition Year in September 2019.

Next Tuesday January 22nd we will hold an Information evening for students who are going into 5th year in September 2019. Parents/Guardians and students are invited to attend. You will get the opportunity to talk to teachers in each subject area and ask questions relating to the Leaving Certificate subject options on offer in Leaving Cert in BCS. it will take place from 4pm - 6 pm.

Try Architecture: The Department of Architecture at WIT has just added a new “Try Architecture” day on Thursday 31 January. The event will showcase Architecture to students, giving them the opportunity to see if one of our architecture courses (BArch, Architectural Technology and Architectural & BIM Technology) is the right fit for them. The event is limited to 60 students and booking closes on Friday 25 January 2019. There is a booking fee of €20 which includes lunch in the Granary restaurant. Well done to TYA who took part in the TY Rowing Programme today. They will now go on to coach 2nd year students as part of their PE programme. Thank you to Mr.Murphy, Mary Moloney from Rowing Ireland and Louise Barry from Waterford Sports Partnership.

Welcome to the students from our partner school in Rennes. they arrived yesterday evening and spent today getting to know the school environment and over the next week will attend classes, take part in activities and will go on a trip or two. They are here as part of our Exchange Programme and stay with our students and their families. Students will travel to Rennes for the return part .
