Le Mois De La Francophonie

The month of March is 'le mois de la francophonie', during which we celebrate all things French. The French Department is organising a number of events this week with the various year groups. There will be a 'cine club' during lunchtime each day from Tuesday to Friday) during which the film 'Les aventures Extraordinaires D'Adèle Blanc-Sec', will be shown. This event will be open to all Junior students in Room 30. Students attending this film but must arrive promptly at the start of lunch so as to not interrupt the enjoyment of others. Students may bring their lunches with them.

REMINDER: The payment forms for the Junior and Leaving Cert exams must be handed into the school office before 11am on Monday 13th March when they will be posted to the State Examinations Commission.

All 3rd Year students must be present in school at 9am tomorrow, Monday, in order to complete the E8A forms for their Junior Cert exams. Students should go to their first class to get marked present and then go along to Rosary Hall.
Last Chance to get tickets for Beauty and the Beast

Tomorrow (Thursday) will be the final opportunity to get tickets for Friday night's showing of Beauty and the Beast. The tickets will be on sale from 8:30am in the Boardroom. The tickets cost €15 which includes entry to the film, a drink and popcorn.

Uniform checks will be carried out during the week so make sure you wear your correct uniform at all times and do not wear any non-uniform items.
World Book Day

World Book Day will be celebrated on Thursday 2nd March. To mark the event, at 11:50am on that day all students in the school will be given the opportunity to read a novel for the class period. If anyone is looking for ideas for a good book why not check out the Red Read wall on the ground floor to see the 2nd Year students' recommendations.
Stress Management Workshops for 6th Year Students

We will host two stress management workshops for 6th Year students on Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th March. These will take place from 3:30pm to 5:30pm each day and will cost €5 per student. More information to follow after the mid-term break.
Computer Game Design Workshop

Tickets for the gaming workshop taking place on Saturday 11th March will be on sale in the Boardroom from 8:30am - 9am on Wednesday 8th and Thursday 9th March. Students of Dominican College will get the tickets at a concessionary price of €15. The workshop is being hosted by award winning computer game designer, Brenda Romero and is aimed at students interested in computer game development. Brenda is actively involved in game design and development and also lectures on this area in the University of Limerick.

Congratulations to our U17 soccer team and their coach Mr. Drea who beat St. Columba's Comprehensive School, Donegal 5-0 in the All-Ireland semi-final today.
