Naas CBS Yearbook 2019

A limited number of copies of the yearbook will be on sale in the assembly area tomorrow at lunchtime from 12.30 - 1.30pm.
The cost of the yearbook is €10. It has class photos and articles from every year group and is a great way to remember all the school achievements this year.
TY Work Experience dates 2019-20

This message is intended for next year's TY students to help plan for work experience during the allocated time.
The work experience dates for next year's TY group:
the weeks beginning Monday 11th November and Monday 18th November (a two week period)
and also the weeks beginning Monday 10th February and Monday 24th February (mid- term is between these two weeks)

Remember also to bring all necessary exam materials with you so that you are prepared and can concentrate on your exams.

5th Year Fundraiser for Barretstown

Well done to the 5th Years who raised €700 for Barretstown in their recent sports day.
Further congratulations to the following students who were the winning team on the day and presented the cheque to Donna Barrett from the Barretstown organisation.

Leaving Cert Self Service Portal

This year all Leaving Cert students must register with the State Examinations Commission to allow then to request viewing of scripts and appeals in August. We have distributed a guide and a PIN number to all of those students who were in school today. The SEC strongly recommends that the registration process is completed as soon as possible. If the student does not register they will NOT be able to access view or appeal scripts.
Would students who have not yet collected their PIN number and guide please call in to do so.

‘We have received a number of requests for clarification as to what Online Marking means for candidates. Our basic message remains the same, which is, there is very little change for candidates as a result of their examinations being marked online.

Leinster League Division 1 Title for our 1st Year Football Team!
The 1st Years beat St. Pat's, Navan by the narrowest of margins in what was an epic battle at Abbotstown GAA yesterday.

Timetable for End of Year TY Portfolio Interviews

Just a note on the upcoming Summer Portfolio assessment and interviews which will start on Monday 27th May 2019. A timetable has been given out to students here in school over this past week.
Remember that TY is based on Portfolio Assessment and Compulsory Work.
As you already know, there are 3 compulsory areas / pieces that you must have.
(i) Up to Date School Journal and Portfolio Folder which were both given to you at the start of the School Year. There is a list of Guest Speakers, Trips and Activities etc. in 2/20.
(ii) Completed Work Experience Project.
(iii) A minimum of 35 diary entries in your online Gaisce Account to achieve a Gaisce Pass but must have all entries completed an approved to attain the Gaisce Bronze Medal Award.
Please also make sure that your absences are all explained by giving notes to your form teacher… A full attendance record will be sent out with TY reports.
