TY End of Year Manchester Trips - Refund Update
Created : 03 Jun 2020, 9:46 AM
Archived : 03 Aug 2020, 12:00 AM
Firstly, thank you for your patience over these last few weeks.
This is an unprecedented set of circumstances and working with Topflight, we have done our level best taking all factors into consideration, to come up with the fairest and most equitable solution available, as our trips were unable to proceed due to Covid-19.
A major factor determining the outcome below is that many airlines/suppliers/hoteliers have offered only credit refunds to Topflight with no option of cash refunds at present.
In our endeavours to refund in full (with the exception of insurance cost where applicable), the following is the option which Topflight for Schools are making available to our groups who were recently due to travel.
Refund by the way of a Refund Credit Note - with option for cash refund after 6 months
The Irish Government has agreed to provide a State guarantee for a special form of refund credit note (RCN) for package holidays booked through Irish registered travel agents and tour operators.
The Government has agreed to back and financially protect this new refund credit note (RCN).
A Refund Credit Note will be issued to each participant by Topflight for Schools for the full amount paid for the tour (less Insurance of €20pp as each participant has had the benefit of insurance cover to date).
The Refund Credit Note is transferable to another person
We expect the exact duration for the validity of the RCN to be confirmed shortly by the Government but they have indicated that protection is likely to be for a period of 2-3 years with the option to convert the RCN to a cash refund 6 months after date of issue.
This Refund Credit Note will be State-Backed in line with the announcement of Minster Ross on the 8th May and the RCNs will issue as soon as the exact details of the RCN scheme are made public.

Dear Parents/Guardians and students,
Hope this message finds you well. As we come to the end of our school year I want to thank you for your patience, dedication and support to all of us in Naas CBS. The last few months have been especially challenging but we got through it together.
There is a wonderful synergy at work with all stakeholders in the CBS and that helps sustain us all in times like this and for that I am very grateful.
I wish all of our students and their families a lovely summer with the hope that we can return to some level of normality in the autumn.
We will keep you informed and updated as we receive information through the summer.
Many thanks and take care,
Ben Travers

Reminder 6th Years - Calculated Grades Student Portal
Created : 28 May 2020, 11:58 AM
Archived : 28 Jul 2020, 12:00 AM
A reminder to all Leaving Certificate students that the Calculated Grades Student Portal for Leaving Certificate 2020 Calculated Grades closes at 10pm tonight, Thursday 28 May
It is essential that students register on the portal at this time and, as required, confirm their levels. The sooner that this is done, the sooner the Calculated Grades Executive Office can provide schools with confirmation of final subject levels for students so that schools can complete their task of providing an estimated percentage mark and class rank order for each student
Later on, students will use the portal to opt to receive calculated grades, to access their calculated grades, and to access later stages of the process such as the appeal procedures.
This is a tight time-frame, so students need to gather the following information before commencing the registration process;
- their Leaving Certificate examination number
- their Personal Public Service (PPS) number (which they need to create a Personal Identification Number)
- an email address to which they will have regular access over the coming months
- their mobile telephone number.
There is Helpdesk support available to students by telephone and email. Please note that due to COVID19 restrictions the helpdesk phonelines (1800-111135 or 1800-111136) are available between 9.00 am and 5 pm each day. Outside of these hours, students can email lcsupport2020@education.gov.ie.
