Second win for u19 boys

Drama galore for U19 boys. The second game was an eventful game with play suspended due to slippery floor. The teams had to move to a different venue in Carlow. The game resumed and our lads played a blinder. The game went to double extra time before our boys came out on top. One more game to play. Come on the Comp

Day 2 of the All Ireland Play Offs and its the turn of our u19 boys today. They have won their first game against Gaelcolaiste Cheatharlach Carlow by 9 points. Great start lads keep it going.
U19 Girls do us proud

Congrats to our u19 girls basketball team who put in a great display on the basketball court to day in the All Ireland Play offs. The girls were beaten in their final game against Killenaule but put in a great display. The team are on route home. Safe traveling to all. And a big thank you to Ms Delaney and Padraig for the great work they’ve done with the girls.

The Girls have won their first game against Muckross Park Dublin. Won 40pts to 30. Playing again now, facing tough opposition against Blarney. Come on the Comp!

Athletics Meet - Thursday 18th January

Students partaking in tomorrow's meet in Killarney are reminded the bus will leave the school tomorrow at 9:30am and return for buses in the afternoon. Students are advised they may attend first class in their Athletics Gear but are also reminded they must have their books and work for tomorrow with them in the event the meet will be cancelled due to inclement weather. A change of gear is strongly advised and finally, a reminder it is only those who have attended training and signed up for the event will be allowed to travel to this event.

Kerry Schools Badminton Competition

Congratulations to the Badminton Teams that participated in yesterdays Kerry Schools Competition. 16 of the 24 players won medals. The Girls U14 and U19 teams won bronze, the boys U14 and U19 teams won Silver. The players were exemplary in their sporting attitude and behaviour. They did themselves proud and were a credit to their families and to the school. Special thanks from Micheal Collins who helped out on the day.
TY students participating in the BT Young Scientist Competition

There are two TY projects through to the exhibitions in the Young Scientist Competition. This year Rachel O'Connor and Roisin Alcocal Moran are displaying their project on Awareness of Assistive Dogs and Kayla Hannon, Niamh Carroll and Clara Hanrahan are displaying their project on a safety device for cars to prevent accidents caused by drivers being distracted by their mobile phones. Congratulations to all the girls, it is a great achievement to get this far and a big thank you to Mr. Nash for the work he has done with the girls. A bus load of TY students travelled to the RDS today to support our students and to experience the BT Young Scientist Exhibition.
