LC2, LCA1, LC1 and Ty students attended a talk on Thursday given by Paddy, Shane, Carly and Kenneth OLY. It was an honest account of addiction with a very powerful message that life can succeed when dealing daily with recovery.

The choir are happy to perform at this year's Darkness into Light this weekend. Please come and join us to sing the walkers on their way. Parents are asked to accompany any choir members singing as supervision cannot be provided after the choir finishes. To sing along, meet us at the Racecourse at 3.15 ready to sing at 3.30 am on Saturday morning
Transition Years attend SciFest in Tralee

A group of Transition Year students attended the SciFest in Tralee on Wednesday May 9th to exhibit the science projects they have been working on for the year. Rachel O'Connor completed her project on .'Spreading Awareness about Assitance Dogs', she was joined at the exhibition by Justin her own Assistance dog. Paudie Griffin, Paddy Cunnane and Caelan Fox exhibited their project 'Birds get away or else you will pay', a project based on reducing the dangers of birds to air flights. Well done to all and thank you to Mr. Nash for his work with the students.

Guest Speakers will talk about their own Recovery Journeys. Speakers include Kenneth Eagan, Carly C, Shane McVicker, Eileen Foley is MC for the night and can be contacted on 087 6402715. Paddy Creedon will welcome the speakers on the night. All are welcome - Admission Free, Stay for a cup of tea and a chat afterwards. Supported by the Thomas Lyndon Foundation.

Congratulations to the transition years who took part in YSI this year. Their project on Gender Equality was shortlisted to the final three in the country and their work was highly commended. Well done to Maura, Caelan, Brionn and Claire who represented their team in Dublin today and did a great job. A big thank you to Mrs. Carrig and Mr. Scanlon for the work they have done with the group.

Best of Luck to the TY students representing the Transition Years at Young Social Innovators today in the National Finals. It is a great achievement for all of the Transition Years involved that their project has been chosen for the finals. Our students have been on stage and we are awaiting results. Watch this space.

Sailing for Ireland

Congratulations to Ellie Cunnane from Listowel and a second year student in Tarbert Comprehensive School. Ellie a member of Dingle Sailing Club has been chosen to represent Ireland in the Laser 4.7 team and she will compete in the class World Championships in Gdynia Poland later this month. Well done Ellie and best of Luck
