Well done to TY SVP students William Bissett and Alice O'Mahony who along with a number of their classmates represented us so ably at the recent SVP Youth Day in the CityWest hotel. Our projects focused on Equality and Food Poverty.

Congratulations to all our participants in today's bake off in aid of Temple Street Children's hospital. Congratulations to our Star Bakers Erica King Brunnell, Olivia Crawford and Megan McGann, runners up Kate Browne and Ali Grimes, Best Brownie Leona Kavanagh, Esther Petit Frere and Ben Farrell. Judges also complimented Abby Phelan and Leah Mallon on their beautifully made banana bread. Orlaith Beattie and Emma Ward received praise for the flavour of their cupcakes. Thanks to Rebecca Walsh and Iona Lee Parnell for handling sales of all these beautiful cakes. Thanks also to our fantastic judges Ms Harney, Ms O'Neill, Ms Grier Gray, Ms JA O'Connell and Mr Potterton for giving so generously of their time. Thanks to the bakers who donated the ingredients and to our anonymous donor for the Easter Egg prizes. €145 was raised. Thank you to everyone who supported this worthy cause

Hi All, its that time of the year again! The CPC Kalbarri Cookery School charity night. On Friday 26th April, there will be a cookery demonstration and dinner by Siobhan. Students got wonderful insights to the intricacies of the law before experiencing their own mock trial with Barrister James Fahey today. A glittering career in 'silk certainly awaits some of our students! Well done to all.
Bikes for Africa Newbridge Rotary Club

TY students Katie Cahill and Alice O'Mahony were delighted to support Newbridge Rotary Club at their launch of their Bikes for Africa scheme at Kilcullen Recycling Centre this afternoon. People are being asked to bring their unwanted bikes to the centre. They will be refurbished before being transported to Africa for distribution to children so they may attend school. Well done to all involved in this worthwhile project.
5L Mini Company Task

Well done to 5L on a very successful Mini Company Task. Their company was called Activium 12 and involved first year students taking part in challenges like the popular tv show The Cube. It was very much enjoyed by all students and a huge success overall. Well done to all 5L students and their teachers Ms McDonnell and Ms Scully.

TY students and their teachers Mr Dowling and Ms Boran were welcomed today to Dail Eireann by our Ceann Comhairle Sean O'Fearghail. Student were given a tour and Sean answered questions relating to government and the operations of our parliament. Sincere thanks to Sean for facilitating this wonderful opportunity for our students.

Congratulations to Amelia Coates, winner of the 2019 Hazel Gaynor Literary Award, runners up James Doyle and Rebecca Walsh. We were delighted to welcome New York Times and Irish Times best selling author Hazel Gaynor who spoke about her experiences writing historical fiction, most recently The Lighthouse Keepers Daughter. Hazel answered many questions and judged our creative writing competition. Our sincere thanks to Hazel for taking time out to visit our budding writers and readers of all levels.
Appointment of Principal from 1st Sept. 2019

Dear Parents / Guardians,
It is my pleasure to announce that the Board of Management of CPC has appointed Mr. Joe Leonard as Principal designate of the College, to assume official office on 1st September 2019.
Mr. Leonard was appointed Deputy Principal of CPC in 2017 having served as Deputy Principal in Beneavin College, Dublin from 2012. He has extensive experience of post-primary education, having previously taught in Clondalkin, James’ Street, Tallaght and Terenure. Mr. Leonard brings very special capability and personal quality to his new position. I wish him every success in the role.
