Congratulations to our South Leinster Post Primary schools Senior B League 2019/20 Shield winners captained by Nick Jackman and coached by Stephen Mann who beat Colaiste Iosagain, Portarlington 3-09 to 2-11. It is a wonderful achievement and congratulations to all involved to make it happen.

Matthew English and Aideen Stein supported by their teachers Dr Eleanor Higgins and Ms Aisling Doyle are presenting their projects today, Saturday 16th November in Newbridge Town Hall. Matthew is presenting his BT Young Scientist winning project entitled "How efficient is algae as a fuel compared to other fuels?" and Aideen has constructed an android app to change the way you handle pet allergies and intolerances. Both students have engaged enthusiastically with current environment and health issues, contributing to meaningful and valuable reseach while increasing their own scientific skills. Well done Mathhew, Aideen, Dr Higgins and Ms Doyle.

Commencing Tuesday 19th November. Five weeks €10 to cover materials. Sign up sheet on the Student Council noticeboard in the foyer.

Cross and Passion College Careers Fair Tuesday 19th November 2019 7 – 9pm The evening will begin at 7pm with a talk from Regina McTigue (Talent and Recruitment Manager) who will speak about the skills required from employers and how to be successful in the working world. Students, parents and guardians can then visit exhibitor stands of interest to them. The following are the exhibitors who will be present on the night. 1. UCD 2. Maynooth University 3. Carlow IT 4. Cross & Passion Parent’s Association Annual Bursary Application Criteria Bursary applications must be: • From current students of the school. • For a purpose that will benefit the school community. Your project must also meet the following criteria: • The application must relate to an activity that will conclude within the school year. A single bursary will be awarded once a year. This may be to an individual or a distributed to several individuals. The Application Process 1. Complete the application form 2. Tell us about your project Fill out your application form, telling us about your project. 3. Send in your application Submissions must be scanned and emailed to crossandpassionpa@gmail.com. 4. Applications are reviewed by the Parent’s Association and the following criteria will be considered: • How the proposed project will benefit the school community. • What benefit might accrue to the local community. • How you as an individual/s will gain from the proposed project. 5. Funding Announced The Parent’s Association will contact all successful and unsuccessful applicants to provide feedback on the decision. 6. Community Photo and Presentation The successful applicant/s will be required to attend a presentation of the bursary and pose for photos.

The 5th Year students in association with the Student Council made a significant donation to Aoibheanns Pink Tie. Students presented Jean Flynn with the proceeds of recent fundraising activities. It was great to be able to associate ourselves in the memory of Ben Guidera.
