Green Schools - National Walk to School Week 7th - 11th October





On Wednesday October 9th we are asking students, parents and staff to participate in our Walk on Wednesday! If you live in town we ask that you make the effort to walk/cycle or if you travel in a car, that you park in the community centre car park and walk from there. Many students do this every day but we would like to promote and encourage it further.



Our Park and Stride location is Lismore Community Centre and staff and members of the Green Schools committee will be there to assist in the group walk to school. 

Meeting time: 8:15-8:20am 



Walk to School Week in line with BCS Wellbeing week promotes walking and encourages as many students as possible to walk or Park & Stride to school. Walking to school is one of the best ways to start the day with multiple benefits to children’s physical and mental health. What’s more, walking is great for the environment by reducing the number of cars at the school entrance, reducing congestion, air pollution and road safety issues.

Both of our Fundraisers are taking place on Thursday 10th. Wear a Jersey of your choice over your Uniform and €2 will be collected at tutor. Duck Tape a Deputy will take place at lunchtime in the GP area. Tape costs €1 a Strip or 3 strips for €2. Don't miss your chance to duct tape Mr.Geary. All money raised goes to this year's chosen charities Barnardos and The Guide Dogs.

Return your completed answer sheet to the box at Tinas office or email your answers to catherineahearne@blackwatercs.com by Thursday October 10th. there are 3 prizes to be won.

Ticket Presale - Duct Tape a Deputy

Tickets for Duct Tape a deputy are going on sale Wednesday at small break outside Katriona's office and Thursday at lunch outside the library. Tickets cost €1 for one strip of tape or €2 for 3 strips. Presold tickets will have priority queuing on the day to collect tape and the best seats in the house. Don't miss this once in a life time opportunity to stick Mr.Geary to a wall. All money raised goes to this years chosen charities - Barnardos and the Irish guide dogs.
