Green Schools Walk for Water

Transition year students headed off in glorious conditions yesterday completing a 6km walk carrying 6 litres of water. This is a representation of what some people have to do daily to access water, often carrying 20 litres! Be conscious of how you use water, it's a valuable resource for us all.

Our 6th year Geography Students headed off to Ferrypoint near Youghal yesterday to carry out an investigation of coastal activities on the spit as part of their Geography course.. weather was ideal and students carried out a number of tasks to use in their project.

BCS take home 2 Munster Titles! Well done to the U16 girls and u16 boys teams who both qualified for the All Ireland finals by winning the Munster schools competition in UL yesterday. It is a fantastic achievement. Hard Luck to the u19 girls who only lost out narrowly on qualifying. Looking forward to the All Irelands later in March.

Just before mid term we rewarded our 37 first years who volunteered to be on the Green Schools committee and our litter pick rota. The senior committee provided some lovely treats and Mr. Joyce supplied his signature chocolate biscuit cake. Huge thanks to all, there was a lovely atmosphere at the meeting.

Basketball returns to winning ways in BCS! Well done to our second and first year girls who played with great skill and pride in Carlow today. It was a great achievement for them all playing in their first ever Basketball match. Well done to both teams and to the first years who won their game.
