There are only a few weeks to go until we host "Songs at Springtime". Below is some information on background information on the magnificent Ryan Morgan and multi-talented Elizabeth Brosnan. Ryan Morgan, Tenor. Described as “a remarkable stage presence” (Jo Kerrigan , Irish Examiner), Ryan Morgan is an experienced and accomplished performer. Ryan was brought up in the rich musical culture of South Wales and is now based in Cork. His singing career began in Welsh choirs, which instilled a love in the vocal art, and resulted in him eventually pursuing a career as a vocalist. His career includes touring Canada, America and of course Ireland. Ryan now lives in Cork. Ryan has sung as a soloist in opera, oratorio, concerts and ceremonies and at numerous high profile venues including the National Concert Hall, Dublin Castle, Dromoland Castle and Cork City Hall. He has performed for the President of Ireland, Ministers of State and Ambassadors to mention but a few. Ryan’s wide range allows him to perform a vastly varied repertoire from classical to music theatre, folk and modern. In recent years Ryan has had roles in Der Vampyr, La Traviata, The Merry Widow, and as a soloist in Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Creation, Mozart’s Requiem, Beethoven’s Mass in C, amongst others. Ryan is principal vocal tutor at the Cork Academy of Music, and is Programme Director for the Lord Mayor’s Gala Christmas Concert at Cork City Hall. Elizabeth Brosnan. Pianist Elizabeth’s musical career includes performing and participating in festivals which have included prestigious venues such as The Tchaikovsky Conservatoire Moscow, The Liszt Academy Budapest and in Sweden, France and London. Elizabeth has also extensive experience as an accompanist with soloists, choirs and musical societies. She runs her own successful teaching practice, and is passionate in instilling a love of music and the art of performance in all her students. Elizabeth has organised the Killorglin Arts Festival for the last twenty years, and has brought internationally famous musicians to the unique theatrical setting based in the Intermediate School, Killorglin. She is particularly proud that they have hosted every winner of the now world famous Dublin International Piano Competition. Elizabeth worked as a representative for Trinity College London for ten years, but her loyalties lie closer to home now and she works as an examiner with the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Dublin.
