It’s been a busy week for our Transition Year Students. On Wednesday they participated in an enjoyable and insightful refereeing course as part of the GAA Future Leaders Programme.The Instructors were experienced referees Maurice O’Sullivan and Pat Sheehy. Yesterday they were around Killorglin shaking buckets to raise money for Ross Hurley who is battling pancreatic cancer. An impressive total of €1600 was raised and we are privileged to help in any small way. We wish Ross all the best with his upcoming treatment.

A new initiative from the Glucksman art museum called Creativity at Home. Creativity at Home provides children and their parents with supported online art activities updated on a daily basis - www.glucksman.org/exhibitions/creativity-at-home The activities utilize basic art materials and techniques and encourage children to follow tutorial videos and plans to create their own unique artworks. Virtual Recital

The Friday Recital is part of life in the school and in these unusual times it is more important than ever to keep routines going where possible. Thanks to technology, holding a "virtual recital" should be possible. To this end students/families/past pupils can record / video themselves & send these files to my email address. Music, Song, Dance, Poetry, Speech are all areas that can be done. I encourage as many as possible to participate so please send your recordings/videos on to jodwyer@isk.ie. "Performances" will be put up on the school website.
ISK Arts Festival Week

The second night of the ISK Arts Festival Week will be held on the 20th March at 7.30 pm. We are delighted to host O Happy Days Ladies Choir and The Killorglins Mens Social Club Choir. This fantastic event will see the two choirs performing some music jointly for the very first time. The choirs will be conducted by Russ Browne & Myles O'Brien, with the whole event coordinated by Ms.Elizabeth Brosnan.

As part of the ISK Arts Festival Week in 2020 there will be two wonderful events. The first will be held on the 12th March and will feature the internationally renowned Michael Kanan and his Jazz Trio. The same night will also feature acclaimed pianist Santa Ignace. The second event on the 20th of March will see "O Happy Days" Ladies Choir & The Killorglin Mens Social Club Choir performing in the school also. So please keep these dates in your diary free for two superb nights of musical entertainment.
