We are playing a blitz in Carriganor tomorrow can boys please bring books for first and last class. Wear PE uniform and bring a packed lunch and€3 for the bus please. We may stop on the way home at the shop if we have tim.

Going forward the school will be streamlining their Attendance, so we will no longer accept notes via emails, phone the office or send written notes in the student journal. We would ask that parents please use the digital Attendance Forms here in the App. These include: Absence Form To inform the School that your student will not be attending school on a particular day(s). Late Note To inform the School that your student will be late arriving at school on a particular day(s). Permission To Leave To inform the School that your student needs to leave the school early on a given day. This request will be reviewed by the School. Parents will receive a personal notification to confirm approval. Please note that students must strictly adhere to the sign out procedure in the school. Students will present themselves at the office and sign out on the digital sign out tablet. Parents using the App will receive an alerted notification to inform them that their student has signed out. Submission of forms by 08:30 am Please ensure that you submit the appropriate Attendance Form before 08:30 am (at latest) to allow the School time to receive and process your form. Forms received after 08:30 may not be processed until the afternoon or the next morning.

Ladies Soccer junior and minor trials taking place on Wednesday 21st September at 13:40 in lismore GAA pitch. If you have not signed up for trials please contact Ms O’Donoghue before Wednesday. Please bring gear to school.
Basketball

Basketball will return at the end of September/early October, when we will have access to the school hall. We will have a 1st and 2nd year basketball team. Training will be at lunchtime on Thursdays.

Badminton

Badminton will return at the end of September/early October, when we will have access to the school hall. 1st year badminton will be at lunchtime Tuesday, others after school on Mondays/Tuesdays. Will post again when hall is available.

Blackwater Community School delights with success of Leaving Certificate Students

Blackwater Community School are absolutely thrilled with our Leaving Certificate results. We are so proud of our students who exceeded expectations at all levels. It was particularly satisfying that seven of our students achieved maximum point or in excess of 600 points and a further 31 students achieved in excess of 500 points. We are delighted that our students have received their places in third level institutions studying Medicine, Veterinary, Pharmacy, Engineering, Law, Physiotherapy, Teaching among others. Our students will follow their predecessors in Trinity, UCD, UL, UCG, UCC, SETU and MTU. The following students, Molly Kenny and Tomás O Miacháin achieved the full compliment of 625 points.
