Blackwater CS travelled to Kilmallock to take on St. Flannans in the first round of the Harty Cup. Following a very entertaining and lively first half Blackwater led by 2-8 to 1-8 at half time. The goals coming through well worked efforts by Eddie Walsh and Ryan Bennett. St. Flannans started the second half very strongly and, despite serious pressure, Blackwater defended bravely. Approaching full time the game was still in the melting pot as Blackwater trailed by two points. However, a goal and point sealed the win for St. Flannans in added time to leave the final score BCS 2-11 to 2-17 St. Flannans. We face GCM North Mon in the next round in a must win game for both sides.
