Second Year student Tiernán Stevenson was in Wexford today at with his BT Young Scientist project on Electricity Generator.. The event was hosted by the Dept of Agriculture and the Assistant Secretary General Mr Colm Hayes will conclude with a ceremony presenting a Certificate of Achievement to all students and schools This event was an invitation to students who have exhibited at the Young Scientist Competition 8th – 11th January 2020 to an event which we propose to host in the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine on the morning of Friday February 28th. This event, to be hosted at our Wexford building on the Johnstown Castle estate, is for schools in the South East Region who have students with an agriculture or environment related project in this year’s competition. The students were given the opportunity to demonstrate their project in an exhibition space in our building where staff from this Department and its Agencies would have an opportunity to engage with the students and discuss their findings. This would be a learning opportunity for the students concerned whereby they would have the opportunity to engage with us on their findings while also allowing us to recognise the innovation and hard work of the students. We will conclude the event with a ceremony marking the achievement of the students and their schools. Well done Tiernan and his Teacher Mr Joyce
